A New Dawn, A New Day

I'm trying daily to stay positive and focused but sometimes impatience and frustration can get the best of you. This journey is not about getting the perfect child or just any child even but finding the right match for an entire family. We have grown to understand more about the possible situations we could face but know also that every adoption is unique.  ~ How do you prepare for the unknown?

I recently read on an adoption forum the opinion that when you adopt, "you are breaking a family in order to make a family". I could not disagree more. Our intent is not to deny our child of their natural connection to their biological family. From our experience a family is hardly ever simple and can involve many layers of relationships. Chris and I are close to our families and have many friends that we consider family. Love isn't bound by DNA.

So new dawn, new day...we can only do what we can to reach out in hope that a connection is made that will complete our family.

Some How, Some Way, Someday

We continue to do all we can (morally, legally and realistically of course) to find the child meant to complete our family. While some may not understand this process and journey, I hope they can see that it is only the desire to be parents that motivates us. Some of those involved in the process may seem to lose the overall meaning and intent but trust me we have not.

We continue to hope that our words will reach those meant to hear them.

For those of you actually still reading this, thank you again...and believe it or not, many of these type of adoptions happen from some kind of word of mouth or other personal connection. ~ Tracy & Chris

The Journey Continues

Things have been difficult in the last year to say the least but I still hold onto hope. Not only for our adoption journey but for all the trials and challenges my friends and family have faced and continue to face. Time seems to drag and fly by simultaneously. I'd love for us to be able to plan...for anything, of course a child, but even a vacation, home projects, volunteer commitments, but the chance of "what if" looms constantly.
Here's to better days ahead!
