Leap of Faith

I'll start with some basics for those of you who may know us but not be aware of what we've been up to. Chris and I have been working towards domestic infant adoption now for about 6+ months. We've found a local agency that works with expectant mothers/couples or parents that are considering their options for their pregnancy or child. The social workers and staff provide counseling on all options available. If an adoption plan is chosen then potential adoptive parents' profile books are shown to them and they can choose who they would like to meet with further.

We have completed all the lovely background checks, doctors appts, reams of paperwork, interviews and are now homestudy approved. Now the waiting begins until we have been matched with an expectant mom/couple or even a baby is born at the hospital without previous plans made.

I've decided to open up a bit to see what situations may come of it. Even if someone doesn't choose us or decides to parent themselves, the counseling or other potential adoptive parents may be the best answer for all involved.

I will provide our agency information so that anyone who knows of a woman that is in a position to need the help can pass it along. We are hoping for semi-open to open adoption but understand this may not always be possible.

I thank anyone who has actually read this far. It hasn't been easy to decide to put it out here but while I believe what is meant to be will be, I don't think you can just sit back and wait for it to fall into your lap :)

We also understand that some may not agree with aspects of adoption or at all and we respect that. If that's the case then please simply ignore our blog. We welcome comments and questions but are not up for the adoption debate.
